Kids Cadets Club

Kids Cadets Club

The Kids Cadet Club is the perfect introduction to the world of motorsport for children. The club has been approved by the association of racing karts to award the national ARKS certificate. Our dedicated team of instructors will tutor in track and driver safety, rules of motor sport, handling, braking, cornering, overtaking, racing lines and even the mechanics of how the kart works! We are able to offer this service to drivers ranging from 5 – 10 years old, from beginner to advanced.
Requirements - You must own your own kart and have a suitable crash helmet, neck brace, suit, rib protector and gloves. Call the office for dates and times - £25 per session.

Novice  - Learn the basic skills required to become a successful kart driver.

Drivers are given tuition on the basics of kart driving techniques. We build confidence in each of our drivers by giving them the ability to handle the kart safely in and around others. Once all drivers have shown the ability to safely handle the kart, we will set a target lap time to achieve and some flag meanings to learn. Once the targets have been met by the driver they will advance to the next stage.

Intermediate - Improve on basic skills and race craft

Now learn the use of the correct racing line, braking points and overall kart control along with some basic mechanics of the kart. To advance to the next stage, drivers must achieve a faster lap time, as well as, more flag meanings and a satisfactory standard of awareness.

Advanced - Full race speed

Concentrating on corner entry and exit speeds, apexes, perfection of racing lines, offensive and defensive driving, consistency, accuracy, smoothness, awareness, out-braking, steering and counter steering. Advancing to the next stage will require drivers to show a good understanding of all of the above, along an even faster lap-time target.

Graduation – Ready to race

To graduate, drivers will need to have passed the earlier stages. Drivers will be tutored to perfect their techniques to a full racing standard and will be expected to demonstrate the importance of understanding the basic mechanics of the kart. They will also be expected to communicate the required information to their team. Once drivers have completed this course they will sit the ARKS examination.
