Starting with a drivers safety briefing approximately 30 minutes after sign in & kitting up, all participants will receive safety briefing, event format, top tips, practice, qualifying, heats & finals!!

The idea behind the Development Sesh is to offer “an insight” for juniors that wish to take a competitive stance to racing the opportunity to do so against their peers. Having run several Development Sessions, the feedback has been ultra successful and growing in popularity!!

These sessions are great fun and enable your children to compete in a fun and friendly environment at Rye House rather than just the arrive and drive or Birthday sessions.

Albeit just an insight, our dedicated driver coaches instruct all racers on format, racing lines & most importantly; safety rules! The session lasts approximately 3.5 hours from arrival to departure & includes all the equipment.

The team will also be scouting drivers (based on ability, not results) for eligibility to the Rye House Drivers Club Championships. That aside, it really is an excellent day out for just £39.99 per head!!

We understand that racing is not always perceived as an easy sport to pioneer… Well actually folks, we make it dead simple… With seven successful years in the making, our Hire Kart Championships have developed into a product and service which we believe is the most affordable form of motor sport, but more importantly; life changing!

The concept is simple; Combine a season of arrive & drive racing on a monthly basis, behind the wheel of the fastest karts in the industry, on a track that is regarded as the greatest test of driver skill! High speeds, hard braking and fast cornering on the 1km outdoor racetrack in variant weather conditions is just the beginning! Racing our custom fleet of Honda 5.5 BHP de-governed “Champ Karts”, this special fleet have been purpose built to race spec, with better handling and more power; and will only be used by RHDC drivers. In short, these karts will really enable you to up the pace out on the circuit!

Rye House introduced the academy over ten years ago. The idea was to give children that weren’t old enough to attend open practice (due to age) a regular session on the main track that was safe.

This year has seen a massive increase in youngster starting out! With more marshals, advice and instructors helping your little ones on and off the track, our aim is to bring RHKL to the next level and maybe we’ll find that next Lewis Hamilton!?!?

Many people go karting at arrive and drive sessions across the country and get the inclination that they would like to start racing but have no real understanding of what is involved and can find it hard and even daunting to find out what the next steps are which is why we at Rye House have put together a number of championships to give people a taste of competitive racing.

We use a custom built, race prepared fleet of karts, specifically for our championship drivers that are faster than the normal arrive and drive hire karts, these karts are only used in our championships which means they are as close to identical as you can get, this gives the championships a very close and competitive edge and will therefore show true driver ability.

We have had a hugely successful year with our championships this year and therefore places in the championships for 2017 are fast filling up so any interested parties should register asap.

We have several junior championships in place which are split into different age groups, again giving each championship a competitive edge and also allowing you to move to different champs each year progressing up the ranks with drivers of a similar age and ability.

In addition to the championships we also offer one to one tuition with our team of instructors that will help you master those lines and ultimately keep the championship drivers all within a few tenths of each other.

A number of our existing championship drivers have gone on to complete their MSA licences with us and compete in owner driver MSA racing and we even boast that our drivers have won various club championships and are even competing at the British championships.

We at Rye house believe we can best advise you from the point you first get in to a kart all the way through to National level and beyond.

September’s annual flagship event of the year is the longest established major kart competition in the UK held at Rye House, which according to David Coulthard is the Silverstone of karting!

Acknowledged as one of the most technical tracks in the country & having history by the truck load, “anyone who, was or is anyone” has raced here!

The London Cup is the longest established major kart competition in the UK. This year’s event will be televised and is sponsored by Harlow-based company 4Gadgets.

Rye House, HKC 2016 & 4Gadgets would like to extend their welcome not only to the drivers, but to all motorsport enthusiasts who wish to spectate on the very track where Lewis Hamilton started his career!

Kart racing is fast paced and spectators can expect to see exciting live wheel-to-wheel action.

Admission for spectators to the weekend event is free and proceeds raised will go to the Cancer Research Charity.  Racing starts at approximately 10am and ends at 4pm Saturday & Sunday. We’d love you to join us for a cracking event!!

Turn 1. Stadium Bend
The fastest part of the circuit, a flat out right hander. The bravest
drivers will only “lift off” two thirds into the turn, then staight
back on to induce a slight drift into position for Reg’s Elbow(2)

Turn 2. Reg’s Elbow
Subject to precision positioning exiting Stadium, a fast left hand
sweep accelerating through to the Infield Hairpin

Turn 3. Infield Hairpin
Approaching this left hander at “Full Chat”, maximum
concentration is required to brake as late as possible, position
the Kart and execute this turn smoothly. A good overtaking
opportunity under braking.

Turn 4. Outfield Hairpin
Accelerate out of Turn 3 setting your kart up into the Outfield
Hairpin, smoothness through this right hander is essential to
achieve maximum speed approaching Pylon Bend.

Turn 5. Pylon Bend
Kart positioning under late braking will determine how
effectively Pylon Bend is executed.

Turn 6. Complex Nouvelle
To drive this fast right hander correctly is determined by how
well the kart is set up through Pylon Bend. A messy entry will
result in low cornering speed

Turn 7. The Esses
The racing line for the Esses is hugely dependent on approach
and again in correct positioning through turns 5 and 6 can
make this a very tricky corner.

Turn 8. Paddock Bend
Accelerate out of the Esses and through Paddock Bend, onto
the finish.
