The 2017 IKR London Cup was a huge success with some of the best driver attending what is regarded one of the the oldest karting events in the country, we can’t wait to run this for 2018!

So, with little over SIX weeks!!! to go before the London Cup, get booking in! Entry List and Online booking can be found at the ryehouseikr.co.uk website and the Rules & Regs should be finalised over the next few days. These will follow the R&R’s from the IKR series which has run all year!

As the longest established major kart competition at Rye, The London Cup has seen some of the greatest drivers in the sport stood on the podium… perhaps this year it could be you!

Due to the success and popularity of our independently run IKR series and of course our 2017 London Cup, once again, team Rye will be taking the reins and running the event to IKR rules.. Meaning drivers without an MSA license can still compete! (note: non-licence holders must be verified)

£85 per class covers the whole day, if you require a transponder then you can hire one from the track at £20, if you have your own, GREAT! the permitted transponders are MyLaps Tranx 160 or the newer MyLaps Trans X2.

The one day meeting will have an optional but dedicated test day from 8am – 4pm on Saturday 6th October (allowing a 1 hour lunch break) and is now available to book for the following categories:

Sticking to tradition, The London Cup will be televised for that extra bit of razzmatazz and of course give all our racers some airtime on the screen!

Spectators: If you are a motor sport fan then kart racing is always an exciting event to watch! With fast, bumper-to-bumper action, commentary, live timing and great facilities, then why not put the date in your diary! Spectators will be charged £1 on the gate, all proceeds will go to charity: Teens Unite Fighting Cancer

Racing on the bespoke BIZ EVO championship fleet & powered by Honda, the RHDC at Rye enables children aged 8-15 years of age the absolute best hire outfit at an affordable cost!!
For drivers that don’t have the preparation time available to compete in race meetings as “owner” drivers but still want to get all the extra benefits that becoming a club racer offers! Not only are the karts faster than previous years, but they will also remain in optimum condition allowing a fair and level race series! You will not find another championship in the UK offering a bespoke fleet of race karts!

With arrival 60 minutes before practice and the final finishing 60 minutes after the start of practice, the session should require you here for about 2.5 hrs “arrival to departure” allowing for the post race presentation. After each race the top three drivers will receive trophies and ALL entrants will get their own “lap time certificate”. Naturally many drivers will want to use their own race wear but we will provide all kit, if required.

THE LOTUS CUP!!

Like the Senna Cup, this championship will alternate between straight GP60 and 2 x Reversed Grid Races format, on a monthly basis.

After each race the top three drivers will receive trophies and ALL entrants will get their own “lap time certificate”. Naturally many drivers will want to use their own racewear but we will have all kit available if required.

The championship will start in April and run through to November on the dates below, we will be operating a drop score, meaning your worst result is discounted, or alternatively if you iss a round, it won’t affect your championship campaign.

On the facebook group “Rye House Drivers Club (RHDC)”, friends or family will able to watch the race “live” and listen to commentary from our very own Sam Green. The race, lap by lap, will also be view-able “live” through our Alpha timing telemetry system.

Each driver will get FREE membership to the Rye House drivers Club. The championships will get FULL web exposure on our own website with regular updates to the championship points. There will be a full championship presentation, in December, to include an annual trophy. Driver’s club members receive preferential rates on practice events.

First and foremost… All qualifying and heats times have been increased from 7 minutes to 10, whilst the finals have increased from 10 to 12 minutes!!!

After kitting, briefing and registration, teams will commence 15 minutes practice after which they will race for a further 2 hours. Teams can be between 2 and 5 drivers, you can book as few or as may teams as you like!

We have been really pleased to see the re-emergence of the 2hr Endurance Race, a format that previously gave way for the GP’s. The last few races have been FULLY BOOKED and the next one is expected to follow suit!!

Due to the school holiday sellout of our ‘developments session’ on the 25th October, ENCORE…. We are excited to announce another on the 27th October!!

Our new Development Sessions ensure all drivers (and parents) leave the race track absolutely buzzing with their experience! This special event enables junior racers, 8-15 years old, the opportunity to take the next step into the world of motor sport.

Starting with a drivers safety briefing approximately 30 minutes after sign in & kitting up, all participants will receive safety briefing, event format, top tips, practice, qualifying, heats & finals!!

The idea behind the Development Sesh is to offer “an insight” for juniors that wish to take a competitive stance to racing the opportunity to do so against their peers. Having run several Development Sessions, the feedback has been ultra successful and growing in popularity!!

These sessions are great fun and enable your children to compete in a fun and friendly environment at Rye House rather than just the arrive and drive or Birthday sessions.

Albeit just an insight, our dedicated driver coaches instruct all racers on format, racing lines & most importantly; safety rules! The session lasts approximately 3.5 hours from arrival to departure & includes all the equipment.

The team will also be scouting drivers (based on ability, not results) for eligibility to the Rye House Drivers Club Championships. That aside, it really is an excellent day out for just £39.99 per head!!

The concept is simple; Combine a season of arrive & drive racing on a monthly basis, behind the wheel of the fastest karts in the industry, on a track that is regarded as the greatest test of driver skill! High speeds, hard braking and fast cornering on the 1km outdoor racetrack in variant weather conditions is just the beginning! Racing our custom fleet of Honda 5.5 BHP de-governed “Champ Karts”, this special fleet have been purpose built to race spec, with better handling and more power; and will only be used by RHDC drivers.
